The leturer explains the negative effects of digital libraries for several reasons. On the other hand, the reading passage supports the advantages of digital libraries.
First, there are still a lot of population that can't access computers in the world. People who don't have computers and the Internet installed in the computers can't access the digital libraries. This refutes the reading passage's assertion that anyone may get information and access books in a easy way with the digital libraries.
Second, although the reading passage says that time can be saved by using the digital libraries which can be accessed anywhere, people would be overwhelmed by too much information to find just a book. It is waste of time to find the right book for someone in the redundant book lists.
Lastly, if the digital libraries are predominant, people don't buy books. This causes the professional authors to be discouraged and not to try to write good books with valuable information. This directly rebuffs the reading passage's assertion that the intellectual world will more thrive if people use digital libraries.
