Both the speaker and the author talk about the efficiency of the advertisement. The author has positive thought about advertisement. On the other hand, the speaker asserts that advertisement has more disadvantages than advantages.
First of all, when it comes to whether the advertisement has useful information or not, the author says that the advertisement gives useful information to people. In contrast, the lecturer states that indeed, these information from the advertisement is not necessary. Rather, these information is useless and harmful. The main reason is that these advertisement allures people to buy there commercial product. Regardless of the necessity of the product to buyer.
Secondly, the lecturer thinks that the price of the product raise more and more because they should make money for making and keeping advertisement by selling higher cost of the products then its original cost. As a result, customer cannot help but buy higher product of the company which are advertising their product on mass media such as TV, radio and newspaper. The fact is in the direct opposite position to the author's argument that the cost of the advertisement makes these media's cost cheap by earning huge sums of money cost from the advertisement charges of these companies. Furthermore, even though the author points that advertisement playing a very important role in not only the country having companies but also surrounded countries. However, the lecturer thinks that it is quite silly thought. In the long run, these activities not helpful to country's economy. |
