Progress is always good. Agree or disagree? |
Human beings come to this stage of world, which is so convenient that we can do any thing by clicking the mouse one time. Coming to this stage, we passed through so many progresses, and those contributed our well-beings. However, when you see the world wholly, you can realize that so many serious problems are prevalent in our society; and those problems are all occurred by ruthless progress. Therefore, I am firmly disagree with the statement, ‘progress is always good.’ To begin with, there is a no doubt that the global warming is caused by human’s selfish progress. While we are processing the industrial revolution, smog and wastewater from factories go in to atmosphere and river without any strict regulations. Thus, the environment on Earth has been aggravated day by day. Now, the global warming is the one of the most serious issues that threatens our life. Ruthless progress should be blamed for this global-warming. Moreover, as the progress is processing at a frantic pace, especially in Korea, the human become insensitive to many immoral things and only pursue for nothing but material. This phenomenon is called ‘moral hazard’. Although we achieved visible result through rapid progress in industry, humans are now turned into selfish existence and money seeker. All these phenomena are responsible for progress by humans. Last but not least, progress in science is another issues that should be argued now. Some people insist that inventions such as cars, planes, and computer are up-graded their life and now they felt extremely convenient than before. However, excessive progress in science has also made another inventions, called nuclear bomb. As the 2 times of launching nuclear bomb in Japan has shown, this mass destruction of weapon has awful power. Now, all people in our Earth are always under the fear of nuclear bomb. In light of these facts, I can definitely confirm again that progress in Earth lead to pollution of environment, moral hazard, and fear toward science. Progress should be rather described as a destroyer that hind beyond the name of help. Frankly speaking, now I am afraid about next progress that we will encounter. |
