▶ Topic :
Both the speaker
and writer deal with the same topic: origination of dogs.
However, they have different perspective. ,
First,
in the reading passage, the author said that dogs evolved from wolves that were
tamed by humans as hunting animals. On the other
hand, in the lecture, the speaker refutes that ancient people could not catch the
wolves. Also, it was really hard to train wolves as a company.
Second,
the writer claimed that dogs were domesticated about 16,000 years ago. This is because
researchers measured the differences in DNA among the modern dogs. With this, they were able to find their first ancestor. In conversely, the speaker claimed that the dogs’ first
ancestors existed earlier than 16,000 years
ago. This is because there are drawing which a boy was standing with a dog
in a cave and footprint on
the ground.
Finally,
according to the reading passage, dog was tamed
in China and then spread to other areas all around the world. Experts exactly
found the location by comparing genetic information. In contrast, the lecturer said the dogs were trained not only in
China but also in multiple countries such as
middle Asia and Europe.
To sum up, the speaker casts doubt on
the writer is argument for the three reasons stated above.
