It is debatable whether having meals
with families is important. However, I firmly believe that it is necessary for
people to eat meals with their relatives. There are two reasons that validate
my position.
To start with, as people are getting busier and busier, the only way to
maintain family bonding is to have meals together. You cannot deny the fact
that in this world of endless competition, regardless of age or sex, everyone
has trouble having spare time associating with others. Parents are busy doing
their works to earn money, and children have to spend their time dealing with
their school works. This is why I stress the significance of having time with
family members during meal time. Let me give my personal experience as an
example. Two years ago, when I first entered high school, my family began to
have every meal individually. After that, it was hard to know each other's
recent conditions. So, I asked my family members to have at least one meal a
day together, since eating alone made the atmosphere of my family less friendly
than before. After eating dinner together, we returned
to/reverted to a peaceful/harmonious family.
To further elaborate my position, people can relieve stress effectively
by eating meals together. Having outlets for stress has a meaning in itself,
since almost everyone in this contemporary world have pressure not only
physically, but also mentally. Although struggling to succeed is vital today,
people need to relax in order to get back on track. Having meals has an outstanding
advantage among many ways of releasing stresses, because it doesn't require
extreme time to relieve stress. For example, there is a study conducted by
Seoul National University. There were two groups monitored. The first group
consisted of people who have meals with their family regularly, and the latter
was formed of those who do not don't eat
meals together. The groups were asked to take some test to measure their level
of stress. The result was intriguing. The first group were not stressed out
compared to the latter group. This study demonstrates that having meals with
family members positively affects their level of stress.
For these two reasons, I firmly believe
that having meals with family members is of good influence to people.
