▶ Your Answer : Some
people might say that people learn from books more than from TV. When it comes
to the statement that books provide and teach people more than TV, I totally
disagree with that opinion. TV show us latest and breaking news immediately
about the world rapidly changing. TV also conveys a lot of information through
various ways using graphics and sounds in order to understand the information
more easily.
First
and foremost, people learn more about the world from TV rather than books.
Books never change and nor contain live news. TV broadcast a number of things
from all around the world with elaborate explanations and detail information.
For example, if North Korea launches missile to test their weapon, books and
even printed paper news could not hold the information concerning missile test
while TV can deliver as a breaking news. TV also provide various topics such as
movies, travel, food, politics, economy and etc. With those diverse channels,
people would learn more about the world than by reading books.
On
top of that, TV can provide huge amount of information than books at the same
time and TV program is usually easy to understand. When we watch the TV, we
watch and listen to the programs otherwise we only see the printed words on the
paper when reading books. It is easier to understand while watching TV when we
see and hear materials rather than just read alphabets and try to catch
abstract concept from books. This fact is demonstrated in some research held by
Seoul National University, South Korea. In that research, scientists examined
which way is the most efficient to understand. People in the research kept just
reading, listening, having a discussion or do things at the same time. The
result of the research revealed that combining visual and sound method is more
effective 40% than others.
To
sum up, argument that people learn more from books than TV could be denied by
reasons mentioned above. TV handle the information and deliver as quick as
possible and role as an apparatus to make sure people comprehensive to
receiving information. This is why I support the statement that people learn
from TV more than books. |
