These days, it is common that children helps
their parents with household job. Some people think that it is important to play
outside rather than to do household affair. However, I strongly believe that doing
chores helps children grow their responsibility and also parents can develop strong
relationships with their children.
First of all, children can get
responsibility by doing housework. This is because children are likely to have
mind that they need to help their parents by observing what their parents do. Society
is not like house, so children should know how to collaborate with others. For
example, while I was attending high school in U.S. for international studying, I
just noticed that I had to do my own laundry and prepare meals for lunch by
myself. I did not know how difficult it was and felt so thankful for her. After
I went back to Korea, I helped my mom such as cooking and household stuff, she
really loved it and I could learn responsibility at that time. Therefore, It is
crucial for children to have coolness by doing household jobs.
On top of that, parents can strengthen bond
with their child. To be specific, sacrificing everything for their children
would not appropriate method to bond with their kids. Parents should share
their household chores with their child and show them how to conduct. From my
personal experience, one of my friends who loves spending time with their
family have cleaning day with her whole family. All family should gather on
Friday and they have their own department to clean up house. She never skipped
that day and she seemed having fun with her family. During that time, she used
to talk a lot with her family and her parents bought a gift sometimes after
finishing their task. Thus, helping housework with family makes people to have healthy
relationships with each other.
To sum up, children can develop responsibility from
unexpected portion and it is great time to spend time with family. In this
regard, I think children should help their family for these reasons. |
