▶ Your Answer :
Although some people may hold different
ideas and opinions about the statement, I personally support that a person’s
looks and dress is more important for success than having good ideas is for the
following two subsequent reasons.
To begin with, first impression is very important
when a person meets new people. Especially in a work place, looking and dressing
are substantial points to be considered as a competent person. In actual world,
it takes a lot of times to know one’s personality, and it is a less important
factor in the place. For example, interviewers should pick people who can
contribute to their company, however selecting among thousands of candidates is
burdensome. Some of the top candidates have fairy similar experiences, so it is
not easy to compare. When I got recruited a couple of years ago, I asked my
boss the reason of choosing me. He told me that all of the candidates had a
similar working level, so just chose who dressed politer. First impression
including a person’s looks and dress plays an important role in interviews.
Moreover, work ability is not related with
one’s idea. Sometimes, good ideas seemed to bring positive effects, however no
matter how the idea is good, results are unforeseeable. To be specific,
politicians always fight for their opinions to establish good policies. Although
the policies are appeared to be attractive, it always entails two sides of
effects. A few years ago, a president decided to make a park in the middle of
Seoul in Korea. Under the pretext of making a better city, it was conducted,
and the park was built. Some people think that it was a very profitable choice.
However, a pollution problem occurred after the completion of the construction.
To build the park, many trees were cut off and the rate of fresh air in the
city was prominently decreased.
In a nut shell, having good ideas is
important to succeed, however it is not a major factor. People are usually
judged by their appearance and good ideas always include side effects. |
