Some
people think that movies don’t tell a lot about a country and movies are just a
fake story. However, in my opinion, movies tell a lot about a country. The
reasons are there are historical movies and movie shows the real place with its
screen.
First
of all, there are movies whose topic is history. That kind of movie tells us
the background knowledge of the event, the sequences of the event and the result
of the event. By just watching the movie, we gradually get to know the history
of the country. For example, last year I saw a movie, ‘Myong Lyang’, whose main
character is ‘Lee Soon Shin’, Korean general. Before I saw the movies, I don’t
know anything of him. However, after I saw the movie, I got to apprehend the battle
he participated in and understand the circumstance in Korea at that time. In other
words, movie tells and teaches us the history of a country.
Also,
the movie’s trait is that we can enjoy the movie both visually and hearing. With
the help of visual trait, the screen shows the places of a country. It displays
the place vividly, so even though I’ve never got to that place, I can feel like
I am in the place. For example, by watching ‘Hae woon dae’, whose background is
the sea of Busan in Korea, we can feel like we are really in the situation and enjoy
the nature of Busan. In other words, we can experience the country indirectly
even though we really don’t get to the country.
To
sum up, historical movies tell and show the past of the country. Moreover,
movie’s screen show the place, so we can show the place of the country. In this
regard, I firmly hole that a county can be told a lot by movies.
