While the reading passage lists three possible reasons why Kerala experienced a rare phenomenon as red rain, the speaker says that these reasons are correspondingly eclipsed by three different sides of opinions. To begin with, the reading passage purports that rain gets red colour because that rain is containing the blood of bats destroyed by a thunderstorm or metour burst. This may be possible in some aspects. However, the speaker argues that the remains of bats' bodies like their wings were not founded in that area even though five million bats should be died to make red rain. So, the first assertion in this reading passage does not sound plausible. On top of that, the reading passage says that red rain was made by a volcanic eruption occurred in the Philippines. However, this is somewhat wrong. The speaker says that Philippines did not experience red rain although a volcanic eruption occurred in that region. In addition, Vietnam also did not experience red rain when a volcanic eruption occurred. Thus, it's a bit of exaggeration to say that a volcanic eruption caused red rain. Finally, the reading passage says that chemical pollution from local factories caused the red rain by emitting chemicals directly into the clouds. However, the lecturer argues that there are only a few factories in Kerala, and the city located near by factories did not experience red rain although Kerala experienced. Thus, it's not convincing to say that red rain was formed by local factories.
