▶ Your Answer :
Given article explains a danger of
sucralose, an artificial sweetener. However, according to the lecture, those
dangers are highly exaggerated and professor explains that why those dangers
are pointless.
First of all, the professor says that the
possibility of diabetes mentioned in the article is not reasonable. She argues
that increase of insulin means nothing as there are other diets who also can
have a same result. She also points out that having a sucralose with diet soda
does not contribute to a risk of diabetes. Rather, she emphasizes that diabetes
can be caused by physical characteristic of individual.
Next, sucralose's impact on creating a
harmful substance is also not trustworthy since the experiment has been
conducted under a specific condition, not in realistic setting. Lecturer points
out that the experiment has been done in much more higher temperature than
ordinary circumstance and also with chemicals which are not often used in our
kitchen.
Finally, there are some intense allergic
reactions observed by some people, but she determines this as a result of media
which spreads the fear of this sucralose. And she also mentions that this
experience-based-data does not mean anything to scientific research, in which
there is no indications of allergic reaction founded yet.
