▶ Your Answer : Some people assert that universities have to pour their budgets not to libraries but to sports whereas others hold the opposite view. As for my position, I stand on the side of the latter for the two following subsequent reasons. To begin with, the main purpose of university is academics and it is evident that library provide essential education. Thanks to variety of documents in the library, students are able to produce high quality outputs. According to a research which is conducted by Korea government, the more money university spend, the higher rank the university place academically. In my experience, I felt very comfortable when I was a university student, because their are amount of professional material in the campus library so I didn't have to depend on the internet sources which is not that accurate. Consequently, on account of library, I could even get the scholarship through the report competition. Secondly, university is not the only place to exercise. What I mean is that the students can pursue athletics elsewhere such as park. As everyone knows, most cities already have plenty of facilities which are able to satisfy the students grid on sports. According to what my old brother purports, his university has no great facilities to play the valley ball although he joins the valley ball club. How is this possible? Well, the answer is utilizing the facilities located in the outside of the campus. He and his club members borrow the public gym once a week. Not only is the cost cheap, but also it is close to his college. He even said that it is more convenient then his high school life as a valley ball player. To sum up, I do not ignore the positive side of sports, however the library is more suitable for university's fundamental goal than the sports and also there lots of sports centers near the university. In this regard, I think it is more reasonable that universities spend their more money to libraries. |
