▶ Your Answer : Agree
It is debatable whether knowing how to read
and write is more important than anything. This is intriguing question because
argument concerning this issue can be different relying on individual
perspective. In my opinion, however, I support that ability to read and write
is important than anything in this world.
First, having reading and writing skills
helps people to follow an educational process. To be specific, people who have
those skills can better understand in the class and therefore more educated,
which as a result it allows people to gain valuable information, stay ahead,
and attain personal growth. People need to be educated throughout their life time,
because education is the most powerful weapon that they can use to change the
world. For example, a study was conducted by Korean Education Board to
determine whether the ability to read and write could affect the understanding
of subject in school. There were two groups monitored. The first group was
formed of children who were above average in their reading and writing ability
and the other group had children who had difficult in those two skills. They
were asked to take test to measure their level of understanding class contents.
The researchers compared the outcome and recorded that the first group could
more understand compared to the other group. The reason was that the children
who had those skill were able to remind the contents by rightly reading and
writing. However, for other children, only
listening to teacher's lecture was difficult to fully understand the class
without reading and writing skills. This study proves that reading and writing
skill should be regarded as vital abilities in this world.
Second, It can lead to problem of relationship
with other people. To be specific, submitting inaccurately or wrong writing
about your opinion causes that other people can misunderstand your intention, as
a result becoming distant. In this world, It is important to build
relationship. building relationship is necessary to develop increasingly
important social, interpersonal, and communication skills. To illustrate, Bill
Gates, who is the founder of the Microsoft, made great accomplishments in his
life time. I read online that he was very successful because he was good at
reading and writing skill, so he could build a meaningful relationship as well
as network with people. He did this by connecting to each other with his
thought and feeling by writing a lot of papers, and reading other people's
reports.
All things considered, I firmly believe
that knowing how to read and write is more important than anything. It is my
belief that my argument has been effectively and precisely delivered with
reasons mentioned above. Never should we forget that this topic may have a huge
effect on our future.
