more complex and difficult to expect. Because customers don’t want mass
marketing anymore, they want something customized for the individuals. The
market and seller need to approach the customers depends on their
characteristics. There are so many marketing tools are able to satisfy this
point these days. Some people think hiring a celebrities or putting
advertisement on mass media can be a very effective way to effect customers.
However, I think reviews from online communities have the most significant
impact on customers’ buying behavior. To begin
with, checking review on SNS and review from people who have used the product
they want to buy already have become the most reliable and popular way to get
recommendations of products. It even led the advent of “Influencer”. “Influencer”
is a new word refers to some people who have big influence on the internet
through SNS, Youtube video and mostly they share the idea of products they have
used. And especially they have used those products on their own, the review can
be even more real and reliable. For instance, in my case, before I order some
cosmetics, I check some Youtube videos of makeup youtuber I always check. And I
and my friends talk about the product were recommended by youtuber. Review on
SNS became the most basic information resource for purchase.
On
the top of that, there are plenty of information people can check on the
internet community. It’s not only easy to search the information, also there
are a lot of information excluding price, amount, color, the way to use. Then I
don’t have to search many details so I can spend my time more efficiently. Also,
if I want to buy a cosmetics, I should consider the type of skin and it’s
difficult to find the person with it. But on the internet, there are many
people with all different types of skin. It’s very easy to check the products
suit me. So checking online community is very effective in this new marketing
era. There is one company I know, they increased their revenue dramatically
through sharing good reviews of their products because many people were
attracted by real reviews.
To sum
up, online communities have become the most significant information resource of
the product and there are many useful information. In this regard, I believe
that comments from it is the most influential resource.
